Jaws Calgary

JAWS continued to meet at Kim's house, usually on the second Saturday of the month; as we had during the last 9 months of 2020. The situation was we had to wait for public meetings, until the projected reopening in September 2021.

In the Spring of 2021, as we owed room rental fees to CommunityWise, and as they pointed out that it was no longer advisable to pay another year's membership with them, they returned our room rental deposit, after deducting the costs.

As of the beginning of this month, there has been a partial re-opening of public places in Calgary. Municipal employees and some retail workers continue to be masked. There is a common opinion that there needs to be a threshhold reached in the populace receiving their second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine.

JAWS is currently searching for another meeting place, which could be free; there are a couple of leads. CommunityWise's reopening will be very slow, and will include only other types of groups and a different meeting room - one larger and more expensive at first - so this would exclude JAWS for some time.
